Corn Fritters

These delicious Corn Fritters make a great snack or appetizer, served either hot or cold.


  • 1 cup yellow pea flour (also known as chickpea or besan flour)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tin creamed corn
  • 1 cup water (for mixing)
  • Oil for frying


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamed corn.
  2. Sift the yellow pea flour, baking powder, and salt over the creamed corn.
  3. Gradually add water and mix with a fork to create a stiff batter.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, drop spoonfuls of batter into the pan.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on top and the bottom is brown, then flip to cook the other side.
  6. Serve the corn fritters hot, or enjoy them cold.
