Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 7 Tbsp protein powder or ½ cup oats
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 3-4 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease an 8×8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine black beans, cocoa powder, protein powder or oats, sugar, oil, vanilla extract, baking powder, salt, and maple syrup. Blend until smooth.
  3. Remove the blended mixture from the blender or food processor and fold in the raisins.
  4. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Bake for 16 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few crumbs.
  6. Remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool completely. For best results, refrigerate the cooled brownies before cutting and serving.
